This shared universe is comprised of the Final Fantasy XIII games and Final Fantasy XV. All students are powerful in their own regard and you can take up to three of them with you on a mission, so there is a lot of opportunity to switch up your team and get a feel for how everyone plays. For me, that was Seven, who possesses a whip and is an extremely agile fighter. However, Class Zero are able to harness their powers without the need for any crystals, making them an asset in the war against the Militesi Empire that seeks world dominion.
The world of Type-0 is split between four factions, all of whom are empowered by magical crystals. The story of Type-0 focuses on Class Zero, a group of fourteen students (all of which you can play as) from the Vermillion Peristylium, a magical academy in the Dominion of Rubrum. However, it does make this fun - yet rough - gem more accessible. Type-0 feel very much like a PSP game, even with its "HD Remaster," this doesn't change the gameplay, nor does it make the graphics anything to write home about. This once-upon-a-time PSP title isn't a bad game inherently however, if you are expecting a spectacle on the scale and quality of recent Final Fantasy games - or even the likes of Final Fantasy X - then you'll be sorely disappointed. Final Fantasy Type-0 is a fun game to work through, though marred by its original PSP release.
